Yumiko on Territorial Issues

Handing Territory to the Sioux

If elected, I will hand over Minnesota, North and South Dakota, and parts of Iowa to various Sioux chiefs. This is nothing personal against the non-Sioux residents of those states, nor do I wish to exclude the other Native American tribes... it's just a gesture of friendship dating back to an ancient Japanese-Sioux alliance.

Do We Really Need Texas?

If there's one state we need to re-evaluate our interest in, it's Texas. I mean, seriously, what is with that place? What is it about it that makes their inhabitants think I couldn't mess with it? Besides, some of them don't even want to be part of the US anyway. I say that keeping them around is more trouble than it's worth. Let them go... it'll probably confuse the heck out of them, too. Plus, if they're not part of the U.S., then we can wage war on them if they ever get out of line.

We Could So Take the Carribean

I did some quick simulations on a modified Risk board, and figured that if the U.S. wanted to make a hostile takeover of all the Carribean islands, they could do it, no problem. I mean, come on, how would they stop us? Sure, they might not like it, and we might get some odd looks from other key nations, but isn't that what conquest is all about?
