DJGPP

Although I have started to migrate my projects to Windows, I won't forget my DOS roots. DJGPP is an excellent free compiler for DOS applications, and is what the original version of Drops of Light and early betas of Aura were compiled on.

Allegro

Allegro is really a wonderful, wonderful thing. It is a multi-platform game essentials library, started by Shawn Hargreaves and continued today by programmers from across the world. Allegro is more free than "free"; they charge nothing for its use, nor do they force you into bizarre licensing requirements. They simply ask (but do not require) that you give something back to the community.

Without Allegro, the games here would have never happened. I started on Drops of Light in 1998, and there is no way I would have been able to code my own SVGA graphics routines back then. Allegro does all the work I don't particluarly like doing, and does it far better than I ever could alone.

So, hats off to you, Allegro!
